John Chavis of Alabama has won the ACC Coach, Associated Press college football coach of the year award after leading his team to a 21-3 record, including a perfect 10-0 mark in league play.
Chavis, who was named ACC Coach at his alma mater last season, also led Alabama to a 10-1 mark in the regular season.
He also led the Crimson Tide to a pair of ACC Coastal Division titles in 2015 and 2016.
Chavis, who guided the Crimson a combined 16-20 last season and led Alabama’s team to its first-ever bowl game, is in his eighth season as the Crimsones head coach.
Chacos’ Crimson Tide were a national title contender and are now 5-0 heading into Saturday’s matchup against Clemson at Bobby Dodd Stadium.
Chachurs team also earned the league’s Offensive Player of the Week award for the week of Nov. 20, as Alabama beat No. 10 Florida State 31-27.
Chavises team also beat No-16 Florida State and No. 2 Clemson in Week 10.
